I'm new at this so here goes. We had a hub for our LAN at our small business when we had dial up internet service. We are out in the country and had no other choice at that time.
We went to satellite and got a Netgear WGT 624 V3 router. We have no problem with internet service. We just can't share files etc. We all have Windows XP. I have talked to Netgear and they said that it is our computer problem. I can ping the other computers etc. and can see them when I view workgroup computers in My Computer. When I double click on them I get the message that the "Computer is not Accessable, I might not have permission to use them... Pathway not found." We have tried turning off our computer firewalls, resetting up our network etc. Once in a while we will be able to access another computers files etc. but only for a short time before we are denied access again. Any help would be appreciated.

right click My Network Places, go to Properties, Right click LAN (Local Area Connection) and click Properties. What networking protocols are installed.
A default set up would show
Client for MS networks
File and Print Sharing
QoS Packet Scheduler
Internet Protocol

Do you see another one set up? Perhaps NetBUIE?

one thing that happens to me, in which case i have a Linksys router, but all i do is unplug the router, wait 20 secs, plug it back in and you should get a connection

I have looked at this before, but here is what I have.

Client for MS Networks
Novell Client for Windows
ZENworks Application launcher
Novell Workstation Manager
Novell Distribution Print Services
File and Printer Sharing for MS Networks
QoS Packet Scheduler
MS TCP/IP version 6
Broadcom Advanced Server Program Driver
Internet Protcol(TCP/IP)

We are actually a small office but use Novell Groupwise as an E-mail provider. Because of that our IT people in our central office set up NOvell on my computer before I got it. Our IT people haven't been any help either.

I would venture to guess other things have happened. Do you have a server or are all PC's connected in a workgroup? If file sharing was working and the only change was the hub over a switch and a new ISP router I would imagine that either the PC's were using a Novell for networking via a broadcast. Switches don't broadcast liek hubs. It also could be you have a server, and the machines cannot authenticate because their DNS settings are set to the new ISP router and not the server. It is hard to say because there is not enough information.
