Converted protected to unprotected

Hello,

The deal is, I had some music on a CD, and I put it on my computer and now it says it's protected content, and I can't open it with windows movie maker.

How might I go about converting it back to unprotected? I don't have the original CD anymore.

Go to Windows Media Player, go to tools>options>copy music tab and uncheck the Copy Protect Music box, select apply, then OK, all should be fixed

But as for converting it to unprotected i really wouldnt know, i would burn the files to a disk, do what i said above, then re-rip them back into your collection and see if that works

FYI:Because they came from a CD they will have an attribute of write protected.
