Never seen a machine closeup which was used specifically used as a server but came across 2 machines, a regular desktop and a matching tower, I am guessing that this tower is a server, it has 2 inputs for a three-prong power plug and only 1 input for what looks like either a mouse or keyboard but the old large din type, not a ps2.

If I am correct that the tower is a server, then how do I do the physical connections?

It could be a server or an old high end workstation. It sounds like it has redundant power supplies. Only one will be used, the other is there in case of a failure to keep the machine running.

Some servers use a special type of cable that you connect the mouse and keyboard to and then to the server. It would help if you had a make and model.

On the front of this unit it has a label "MTX Computers" and on the back of it, it has a tag which reads

Microtask consulting Inc.

and a New Jersey Phone number, I call the number and they say they only give support for pc's and don't know who makes this unit. Searching for MTX computers led me to a Canadian company but they don't make this product.

Might be a custom built machine.

What do you want to do with it? Might be able to just open it up and look for any bradning on the motherboard and what types of processor it is using.

I am being told that most likely is an older pc which came with 2 power outlets, one for the monitor and a din plug for the keyboard so a serial mouse would be used. I'll throw it out after opening to see what's diferent from a new pc.

Sounds like it could even be a 486 machine...it is definitely an AT power supply.
