i am a student in the CIS faculty at school. i have to make web pages using home site, photoshop, adobe. i am learning c++ and need the borland compiler to be installed on my comp. i will be learning oracle; and need access... basically i want to know what kind of a system from memory to processor speed can i have that will handle these programs efficently and effectively...

Just for the processing your doing, any 500-1ghz system is more than adequate, what you want to concentrate on is memory and OS-i would suggest a minimum of 256 MB's of PC133 ( if it's capable of handling that memory speed ) and at least run Window's 2000 prof. for it's robustness in security and application control.
This layout should meet your needs quite well.
