Team,
my grandson has been bought a computer by his parents several months ago. I have just learned that it is still asking him to "Register ???" WITHIN 10 DAYS of purchase.
He is not likely to use the Internet, but needs to use various school software and standard applications which were all on the machine when it was bought for him.
He needs to "bypass or whatever" the message which appears every time he switches ON.

Can you please advise.

Thanks Ray

If this system has windows XP installed on it.
Just click on register.
When it doesn’t find a network dial up.
Then use the Phone Number displayed or in the documentation to call MS and register.

Is it asking to register or activate? If it's asking him to activate, then do what Rick said or the system will stop working. If it's asking him to register, he doesn't need to, but it may be a good idea for warranty or support...

You may be able to shut off the registration program by using msconfig...
