Hi all, i would very much appreciate some memory advice if you would be so kind...

I have a Packard Bell Ixtreme Gold 1807, with an Asus P5s800 - vm/s Motherboard. It has 2 Ram slots, each containing a stick of 512mb RAM. According to the spec it supports DDR2 SDRAM and supported RAM speeds are DDR266/PC2100, PC2700 and PC3200.

I wish to upgrade to 2Gb of Ram, so want to buy two 1GB sticks to replace what i already have.

Can anyone please recommend:

a.) which the best make and model of RAM compatible is... (does PC3200 mean it is faster and therefore better than PC2100??)

and

b.) where is the cheapest place to buy from...

I am running the music sequencer logic 5.5 and wish to enhance my plugin capabilities..
Any advice is much much needed and appreciated!

Thanks in advance

Joby

Yea 2gb sounds like a good upgrade to me, i might do this sometime soon.

And yes pc3200(400Mhz) is better than 2100(266Mhz) so that would be best for your motherboard. Unless you are using it for gaming I wouldn't bother spending the extra £50 for ram with better timings.

im not sure what country you are in, but if its the USA think the best is newegg.com or in the UK i would go for overclockers.co.uk, or scan.co.uk

You want to get somthing similar to this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820146575
