i'm trying to find the cpu fans, case fans and power supplies that produce the least amount of noise. i've seen a few brands, but would like to get some testimonials on what others are using before i purchase.

Hi gossmar, Well it kinda depends on what Heatsink you're sporting on your processor and what type of case you have. For example is it a micro tower, mid tower, full tower? Is it an ATX or AT motherboard? What processor do you have?
I can give you basic recommendations on what would work for more modern PC's. I highly recommend 80mm Panaflo case fans made by (Panasonic) or 80mm PAPST case fans becuase they are extremly quite and move alot of air and last a long long time. They can be found here http://www.plycon.com and here http://www.coolerguys.com.
Enermax makes quality low noise Power Supply Unit's , they make specific models that have little to very low noise and ive never had any problems with these PSU's. You can find them here: http://www.newegg.com <--- this is an excellent site to buy computer hardware from by the way , hands! down the best service and low prices on brand name PC hardware.
If noise is a bajor concern you might even look into Noise Dampening Material. Look at the PAXMAT or Akasa noise dampening material here: http://www.plycon.com

thanks for the info jeremy23. i'll look into the items you suggested. the heatsink and fan are for an athlon xp 1800. one that will be sufficient at cooling but remain relatively quiet.
ps-i agree with your plug for newegg. definitely a great place to shop.
