I have a dell precision workstation 420 with a single Pentium III 667Mhz processor installed. I have a second processor of the same family, model and speed that I wish to add. I have run into two issues which I have had great difficulty getting answers to:
1) The first processor is rated for 1.65 volts. The second processor is rated for 1.7 volts. What concerns or issues are related to mixing processors of different voltages? Can it be done? How?
2) The first processor is cooled by a large heat sink and a system fan. The second processor has a smaller heat sink and its own fan. I could not find a second power connection for this second fan. How do I go about getting power to this second fan if there is no connection for it?

My Mobo is a DCA200 if that helps at all.
Thanks for any info.

I dont think the different voltage cpus will cause problems as long as they they use the same clock speed/multiplier. Check your BIOS and see if you can change the multiplier to match. If this is the case then proceed. You must have an OS that supports multi threading/SMP. The NT family does this. You know that most software doesnt multi thread. Its hit and miss on that.
As far as cooling goes you can buy a new heatsink and fan combo with heat sink paste with a standard power connection and if needed i think you can find adaptors to either "Y" an existing power cable or change the cable end for an open power cable for an ide device. I would ask the local computer supply about that.
