Hi guys. Well, today I built my first PC, I put all the components together, and everything seems to be working fine, except I cant get any sound. Im not sure if its hardware or software issue so Im posting here.

Here is the error I get when I try to install audio driver/mixer.

And also in my hardware profile I have couple of the following issues, Ive tried to update the drivers but it seems to find none:

If anyone knows what the problem could be, please let me know. Thank you.

try going to Asus' website and downloading the drivers for the sound on that board there.

if that fails...

you could also try Everest Home Edition*in my sig* to get the name of the audio hardware, go to Driver Guide (http://www.driverguide.com) and manually download the driver for the hardware there...

I just tried the link above from the asus web site, and exactly the same audio driver I got on the CD with motherboard, but it just wont install, I keep getting error in the first picture. Could it be that I didn't connect something on motherboard that causes it?

And this is what I get when I click on the mixer icon:

G'day,

I suggest you go into the bios and enable the ONBOARD sound function in the advance section of the bios.

The message above is for installing an independant sound card, I believe.

In addition, I suggest you use an independant sound card rather than running it off your motherboard; it will slow the processing down because it's putting a greater load on the CPU. Besides, you'll get better sound from the card.

Cheers
