Could i be able to change this power supply thats in my compact or does compact have their own.

Can i change it with this 450 watt?

when you say Compact, i assume you mean Compaq? and yes, if the Measurements are the same, and so are the kind of connector are the same, then yes, they are compatible..

Example: AT compatible wouldnt work with an ATX system.

Nah, Compaq, now a subsidiary of HP, used cheap parts on their computers, the only one i know of useing a proprietary power connector was Packard Bell back in the early-mid 90's
