Is the upgrade worth spending the money. I run zone alarm and it seems to be doing fine, was just wondering if it was worth it to jump to pro.

Pro: More options, more customisable, mailsafe and more secure (checks dialups for example).

Con: Slower to load and (IMHO slightly slower browsing) and not free.

I think it depends how important security is to you/your system, what other applications you use and what your internet habits are.

Pro also has cool features like killing banner ads, killing banner ads only if they take more than a few seconds to load, and killing pop-up ads.

As far as my internet habits are concerned I pretty much use email, IE 6, irc and the various dos networking commands. I do browse to sites that use popups often, does ZAP also nail the sorry ass flash ads that are becomming the rage? I don't mind spending the money if in fact the product is an improvement over the free version. How stabile is it? I am not too worried about a slower load up time, 5 seconds more on boot won't make a differance.

There is a fix for the flash ads.....unistall Flash and Shockwave. Disable Java and you will not get pop-ups either, that would only leave banners, and if you disable animation then they won't be moving ones.
