new comp always keeps freezing on me

i recently got a new comp. at work. its a intel dual 3.4 ghz with 3gb of ram running on xp pro sp2. the only problem i have with it is that it temporary freeze's on me for like a sec every 10-15 mins. anyone know the reason for this and how i could fix this problem?

If it is still under warranty, return to shop if with in 30days or contact direct to the manufacturer for warranty service. Do not open anything or warranty will be void!!!

Talk to your IT department and see if they have anything running on the network in the background. It could be an authentication certificate poll/re-issue or a security client program. Or it could be a hardware problem (for instance, the RAM) or a bad installation of Windows. These are the most likely culprits.
