hi guys, I have a 500GB external WD hardisk and a Netgear ADSL+wireless router. I would like to connect my external hardisk to the wireless network so that, my sister and I could access to it via our own laptop. May I know is there any adapter I could use to connect my hardsik (USB 2.0 or firewire) to the wireless router (Ethernet)?

I know that there is one type of hardsik on the market, with a ethernet output for this purpose, but it will be too costly for us to puchase another hardsik:( , moreover, 500GB would be sufficient for our use.

any suggestion is appreciated, thanks !!!:)

The easiest way is to install the hard drive in a desktop computer on the network, and use Windows to share the hard drive.

You could also look into USB hard drive enclosures that will attach to your laptop via USB.

Or just buy one of these:

You could just plug it into one of the ethernet ports of the rouer. Both of you could then access it wirelessly.
