pcAnywhere+Laptop+XPHome = no Stand By mode

After loading pcAnywhere 10.5 on my Gateway laptop, when I shut the laptop, it no longer goes into stand by mode - it shuts down.

When I open the screen back up it stays dark and I have to hold the power button down for a while to reboot.

I have correctly entered a registry setting to alwaysallowsuspendmode.

Removing pcAnywhere also removes the problem - the computer goes into standby mode and opening the lid the screen comes up to enter my password...

Anyone have any ideas?

Did you check your power options in the display properties box?

Any changes when pcanywhere is installed? Did you check both with and without the software?
