I can't get the nbtstat command on my windows xp to come up with anything other than "no host found". I can't even see computers on my own network. At home I have a wireless network but I can hook up computers to the router. Can I use nbtstat on a wireless system? And I don't know what else to change to make it work besides allowing printer and file sharing (and it still doesn't work). So if anyone could help that would be great.

NetBIOS over TCP/Ip may be disabled on your NIC properties or more likely blocked by a firewall. It also could be the Computer Browser service is stopped. Really not sure what your problem is, are you trying to set up a network and using nbtstat to help figure out what the issue is? Without enabling File and print sharing you will have a hard time setting up a Windows network.
