Earlier today I was reconnecting my computer. I plugged the plug into my surge protector and it made a small spark inside the outlet. Now my computer won't turn on. A small green LED light turns on when I plug it in but nothing happens when I press the power. I don't know whether its a problem with my PSU, CPU, motherboard, or something else. Is there any way I can figure it out?

I would start with testing the PSU with a PSU tester. Or swap it out with a known good one.

If the PSU is found to be good (unlikely), or has been replaced you need to swap out the CPU for known good one, and/or try that CPU n a known good mobo. That's the only way to test a CPU and mobo.

Hopefully the damage stopped at the PSU, but there's no way to tell until you start testing. If you don't have the components or can't get them from a friend, you will need to take the system down to a computer shop and have them test it.

I bought a new an Antec 350W PSU today and hooked it up but thers still no response. It acts the same way as it did before. I don't know anyone else that can lend me a CPU or mobo, whats the best way to go? Out of the CPU and mobo which is most likely the one that isn't working due to a short from a surge?

Motherboard....

But, double check it with the new power supply in a different outlet, without the surge protector.

Yeah don't plug it into the same outlet and/or surge protector the sparks came from.

Well just tried it using another outlet but still no dice. I think I'll just bring it into a shop and let them look into it because it's really not worth the time if I don't have the materials to troubleshoot it with X.x. Thanks for the help guys, much appreciated.
