try Newegg (http://www.newegg.com), they have a good selection of basic tool kits for under $50.
the Belkin 36-Piece Professional Computer ToolKit is the best deal i can see for the money. { $28.00 }
be aware however, that over time you'll find that not every tool you need will be included in such a kit; as time goes by you'll collect an oddity of specific equipment that most tech guru's probably would never consider as a " PC " tool.
Like finger nail clippers, they are the best for wireing jobs in tight places i've ever used. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/smile.gif
