I have a wireless network set up using a Linksys router and a couple Linksys Wirless-G PCI adapters. I get good signal strength and everything seems to be working fine (I even set up some port forwarding for P2P access) but when browsing with either IE or Firefox, I find we usually have to click something twice to get to the page we want. When I click the first time, IE or Firefox will act like it's going to the requested URL but unless I click a second time, it takes FOREVER!!! Anyone have any suggestions?

Yes, it could be a DNS issue. Do you have the problem clicking inside pages after the main web page loads or just with the first page?

Try this first,
From a command line type nslookup www.google.com and hit enter
Look at the Server: and Address: answer in the first two lines.

Now type ipconfig /all and hit enter

Do the DNS servers listed match your nslookup server? It should.

Now go to your ISP's main support web page and find their DNS servers.
From the command line ping the IP listed for each DNS server. Whichever DNS server has the lowest ping times make that your first choice in the DNS list for your networt adapter properties or if you set your router to DHCP configure your router's DHCP setting to list the fastest server first.

Once a page has been loaded Windows XP caches the IP address. It no longer needs to use your DNS server to find the web server page as it already has the IP. Have you messed with DNS cacheing?

It could also be dropped packets, a problem with interference on the wireless connection, latency due to bandwidth issues or security software packet inspection (firewall) running on the wireless router or on the local machine.

The odd thing is the double click. When you double click do you see web page text load but no images for just a second?
