I have a Pavilion a300n and the side of the case has gone missing. It's the kind you slide off from the back to get access to the guts. I checked with HP and scoured the web but no luck. I'm wondering if I can replace the entire case for this type of computer or if HP uses a certain type. Or if anyone knows a site that may have a pile of old junk like this. Thanks for any help.

HP uses ATX motherboards for most all of its machines, (generally microATX boards lacking the full features of their retail counterparts) so any ATX compatible case capable of housing a micro board would work (quite a few of them)...

Besides, HP cases are generally a bit cramped and hard to work in...so transplanting it into a bit larger/nicer case makes sense.

Very cool. Thats what I was hoping for. I may even have an old beater comp here I could gut and steal its case. Thanks for the reply.
