View Full Version : Mailwasher & AVG email scanner

I always fetch my email headers using Mailwasher.
Open a PC-Guide email...
Click on the link...
Deal with that, then tick the email for deletion at the server.
Any emails I wanted to remain on the server would be left unticked.
Any emails that looked like spam would be ticked for deletion.
Lets say there were no other emails, and I click "Process Mail".
THE PROBLEM [if it is a problem]:
As Mailwasher is deleting the emails at the server...
The AVG email scanner program runs and the pop-up appears saying that one or more messages are being sent [probably to the spam senders].
The last one was just a quick flash and I couldn't read the recipient, but I didn't want anything sent.
Do these spam emails have the ability to send a message back to the sender as the email is being deleted at the server?
Possibly...if by any chance they are being sent with "Read Receipt" attached, but that shouldn't affect anything, until they are marked "Read"...so something must be marking them 'Read' before deleting.
Anything show up in AVG's log?

Searched for *.log on C: and there are 5 AVG log files in different locations, but they're all AVG program update logs; no logs of email scans [that would be some size of a file if it existed].
Haven't noticed a repeat yet; will watch for this.
I got a couple of emails a few days back that purported to notify me of a failure to deliver emails sent be me, but I'm pretty certain my PC isn't sending any except these things AVG is showing whilst Mailwasher is deleting spam at the server.

Just got these via Mailwasher; any idea what they are?
One for each of my 2 personal identities whose mail is fetched by Mailwasher.
Two other identities are not fetched by mailwasher.
I deleted them on the server using Mailwasher.
I didn't send any emails since Sunday I think, using only one of those identities.

Content is like this...
There is no "next part" to the message; no email was sent so far as I know.
Oops, when I "View complete header" there is a lot more.
Here's some of it.
