I am attempting to set up a home network consisting of a desk top connected to an Actiontec GT701GT DSL gateway modem through the Ethernet port and a Laptop through the wireless port. I can access the Internet just fine through either computer, but can't connect computer to computer. Both are running XP and I have run the XP wireless network setup wizard. Do I need to disable the firewall in each computer? Any other ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks, AZcamper

Yes, I have studied all that information and still can't find a solution.

File and Print Sharing turned on?
Workgroup names the same?
Can either machine 'see' the other?

I was able to resolve the problem by disabling Norton firewall on both computers. Now I need to figure out how to secure the network and still allow computer to computer interface. Thanks for your help and quick attention to this problem!

You should be able to configure the firewall to allow it...but since I don't use Norton, I can't tell you how.
