Laptop help, weird freeze issue?

Hey peeps ! Im new here and hopefully not in THIS section too much.

I have a very strange issue with my laptop. I installed Nero the other day and since that something weird has happend. I dont know if the 2 are related but when i log onto my PC everything is fine until i press either, the sound up, the sound down, or Mute Keys??? Once i press these i can no longer open anything?

If i have a sound file running, it will play on like normal until the video or music ends then it all freezes.

The even more strange thing is, if i hit (control, alt and deleate) it actually does the command i just tried to do and then re-freezes???

Has anyone herd of anything like this or give me any help, if anyone needs further details let me know.

Can i also add that i can adjust the sound ok on my system, just when i hit any of 3 keys mentioned the whole thing goes Boogaloo ! Also if i log under my other halfs profile, she doesnt have this problem?? Would deleating my profile and re-entering a new one help?

You can try by just creating a new profile, before you delete your curent one...but before you do that go to Start => Run => msconfig and then in the Start up section, disable any Nero related startups. Then reboot.
