...if this 16mb 72pin sim made by nanya is edo or fpm?, it has the serial number nt511740B5j-60 on it (although the b might be an 8 knowing my eyesight).
I'm trying to put in another 2 16mb simms but don't want to mix edo and fpm. I've tried memory configurators, the nanya website (unavailable), google search but no joy.
Any other suggestions for good configurators also welcome. Thanks for any respone, even just condolences for having such an old system.

lib319,
You might want to have a look HERE (http://www.nanya.com/e-htm/abc/abc-03.htm).
It appears that you might be misreading the 8,B, possible D.
Note that with the D it could be EDO.
If this doesn't work, I would email their tech support and give them the numbers and see what they say! http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/wink.gif

Thanks a lot for that, I'm thinking this is actually edo but I was told today that if it is the ram will definitely have it (ie edo) written on it, this is not true is it?
I know mixing e and f can cause faults but can non e or f be mixed with edo or fpm?
Forgive the lack of knowledge once again

Hello lib319 Welcome
NT511740C5J-60 and NT511740D5J-60 are EDO
NT511740C0J-60 and NT511740D0J-60 are FPM
I believe your RAM would be older than these it is Rev B and EDO NT511740B5J-60 if it was FPM it would be NT511740B0J-60

Heheh, I wonder if it would matter, but my school has a pile of such systems that are waiting to be towed away. Plenty of SIMM's just sitting there for the taking, I mean there's no security and no one cares http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/wink.gif. The semester is over right now, but I should be back over there again within the next 6 to 8 weeks.
Want some free SIMM's?
By the way, no guarantee that they will work http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/rolleyes.gif.

Thank you so much to everyone who has replied, a great help. I will soon have a whopping 64mb ram added onto my 200mhz computer, now now, jealousy is such an ugly emotion, control yourselves.
Thanks very much again.
PS free simms would be great although I live in the United Kingdom so postage would probably cost more than the memory (I'm assuming you're in N.America somewhere(?) but a big thanks for the offer anyway.
Cheers for now
