It depends on the Controller you have in your system.
If you have one with Dual IDE controllers you will be able have a total of 4 ide devices.
This would allow you to have for example 2 hard drives and 2 other devices.

Check the Mother board and or documentation for your system.
if you have a dual IDE controller then you can install the CD-RW and Keep the cd-dvd
with no problem.

You may find that you need to purchase a new ribbon cable if your present cable only has 1 connector on it.

Hello stefanus,

I see a couple of considerations with your endeavor. First, would be your power supply. Is it capable of handling the increased load?

Secondly, what other devices do you currently have connected to your IDE channels? On most boards you can have only 4 devices, ie., 2 on your Primary and 2 on your Secondary channel.

So, if you'd post back and give us your system specs (what you currently have hooked up on your system) we can go from there. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/wink.gif

Lets try this

Select Start - Settings - Control Panel

2. Double click "Add/Remove Programs" and click the "Windows Setup" Tab (middle top).

3. Click Accessibility to highlight it and then click "Details" (lower right)

4. Click "Accessibility Tools" to highlight it, and under "Description" you will see that this where the Wizard is located - Now, left-click the check mark next to it and click "OK." That's it!

Let us know if this works or fixes the problem.

Do you have WinZip or a program capable of handling .ZIP files? It might be that it cannot open Yoda's file because you do not have a program capable of doing so.

If you have your hard drive and DVD drive on the primary IDE channel set the jumper on the CD-RW to the master position and install it on the secondary IDE channel attached to the end connector on the ribbon cable. If you find you are having power problems like spontaneous reboots HDD errors or other mysterious happenings get a better PSU.
