I bought a brand new Antec Basiq 500w PSU from the Internet at Christmas and it was running at 11.37v

I was told a couple days ago that this is dangerously low and that I have a faulty Power Supply. Well today I went out and bought a 460w Xclio StablePower PSU which cost me a bundle and after installing it onto my PC it's only reading at 11.07v

Surely two brand new PSU's can't be faulty... What else could be the problem?

OK update! I took both my PSU's to a PC repair shop and they tested the voltages with:

A) A Multimeter

B) BIOS

All readings came back as 12.6v for both PSU's.

That means that they're not faulty and that the problem has to be to do with my PC... Have you any idea what could be wrong?

Well, what exactly do you have in your machine?

And how are you monitoring the voltages?

Intel Pentium D 2.8Ghz
256mb Nvidia Geforce 7600gt
1gb PC3200 DDR
40gb HDD

I'm using Everest, Speedfan & Sensorview to monitor the voltages. The weird thing is that I checked in BIOS and the voltage is saying 12v exactly, whereas all the programs I've used to check say 11.07v

Go by the BIOS, it is more likely to be closer to the actual value.

Agreed, definitely go with what the BIOS says. These monitoring programs are notoriously off, especially when it comes to reporting the PSU info.

One of my machines running speedfan shows the 12v rail at 10.07. That's wrong! I don't think the machine would be running very well if it were that low. The BIOS reports it right around 12.04v.
