Is it a full retail or an oem disk?
I think MS will replace the disk if you give them your details, but there is a charge.

Maybe...I have heard of MS replacing broken disks with proof of purchase (that generally means a receipt for the retail version).

If you bought it online, the place you bought if from may still have a record...Newegg still has records of my orders from years ago.

If its not too badly cracked you might still be able to copy the i386 folder from it; that is all you need to reinstall winxp using winnt (http://www.iol.ie/%7Ekrakowangus/winnt.htm) or winnt32.

Any CD of the same version borrowed from anywhere should do the trick. It is much more important to have your own CDKey than your own original physical CD.

If you can copy the i386 folder intact, then you can even slipstream (http://www.winsupersite.com/showcase/windowsxp_sp2_slipstream.asp) SP2 into it to create a new disk...

I would contact MS and find out if they would be willing to send you a good copy if you send them the damaged disk and the CD Key...
