20 - 24 pins

Hi, i have a P5W DH DELUXE Motherboard, with 24 pin power conector, and i have an ultra X-connect 500 watts (ULT31556) PSU. with 20 pin power connector. Also i have an evga 7950GT PCI-E video card. And i want to know if i could use the 20 pin connector on the motherboard or i need to buy a power adapter 20 - 24 pin? Thanks for your help...

You need to buy a 24 pin PSU. Those extra pins (plus the PCI-Express pins) are needed to maintain stable operation.
