I'm having a problem with my computer. Last week I got a blue screen crash twice. This week, my computer froze up temporarily, then I got a blue screen that said something to the effect of, "Windows has encountered a problem. If you have not seen this screen before, reboot as normal." When I rebooted I get a screen that gives me 5 options. Safe Mode, Safe Mode with Networking, Safe Mode with Command Prompt, Return to last know good config., and Boot Windows Normally. When I select Boot Windows Normally it gets to the windows loading screen and reboots. When I select any of the other four options, the computer reboots instantly.

I'm running windows XP pro. Also the P.O.S.T. test is normal. (1 Beep)

Try system restore on it if you can get to it. It has never worked for me in god knows how many attempts but worth a go lol! :D

Getting a blue in Windows is associated with infected/corrupted system files and also infected MBR.
Try cleaning the MBR and replace the corrupted or infected files by using Windows Recovery CD

This is clearly a hardware problem.

The first thing I would do is open the case and make sure all fans are spinning.

The next thing I would do is test the memory.

The third thing I would is test the hard drive

The fourth thing I would do is look for bad capacitors on the motherboard.
