Ive just recently brought a new dell notebook with xp pro installed and im trying to get it to connect to my main station via a netgear WPN824,Im on wireless broadband ! my problem is i get a pop up saying one or more connections is available please click here,so i click there and in the box it says NETGEAR,when i click connect another pop up come up saying the same thing again (one or more connections available please click here)

just seem to be going round in circles here lol

any advice would be appreciated

I'd connect to the router by ethernet first of all, and change the name of the connection to something other than netgear - this means that if there is another in the neighbourhood, you won't be chasing your tail wondering which one to go on.

Secondly, it's easiest to let windoze take care of the wireless network - it does a fairly competent job.
When the list of networks comes up when you connect by wireless, check the connection is ok, then select it to automatically connect to this network when it is available.

ALso make sure you have AES WPA encryption set on the system - if there is anyone else around, it's best to make sure they can't hijack it.

If problems still persist, try changing the default channel that the router and your wireless NIC use - this is obviously going to be the same on two different netgear systems, and changing over can make it a bit easier.
