You can try Everest (http://www.old-versions.net/show/Everest_Home_Edition/50/)...it provides all sorts of system info, in a handy format.

The FREE "Emergency Boot CD" [EBCD] includes [among its many other offerings], "Aida16", which is pretty amazing at listing the details of your hardware etc.
The point about this is that it is run outside of the Windows environment [Windows not loaded, not running], so can tell you about your PC's details even when Windows won't/cannot boot [this might be a life-saver at some point].

This makes it easier to boot a chosen drive [particularly the one holding the EBCD].

2. How to make a free EBCD bootable CD

This has a number of useful utilities included including "Image" [for DOS, by Terabyte] & "File Manager".
