To be honest, I know almost as much about computers as George W. Bush knows about global warming, so cope with me if I use a name wrong or something...
When my younger brother was on a different computer on the LAN, it jammed, so he basically unplugged the entire power source to our computers, without realizing this one was on and functioning.
Now this XP doesn't detect other computers on the LAN and the other two computers don't detect it.
However, the computer is plugged in to the hub (EtherFast 100BaseTX 4-Port Hub) with the other computers. It's connected using a 1394 Net Adapter, if that helps.
The one thing I noticed with the status of its connection is that no packets are being sent or received in the LAN Connection Status, but I don't think that's useful information.
When I clicked "Repair" it came up with a message like this:
"Windows could not finish repairing the problem because the following action cannot be completed:
Failed to query TCP/IP settings of the connection. Cannot proceed."
What do I do?
