No wireless connection

I'm working with a friend in another state with his laptop which isn't connecting.

I have tried ipconfig, restarting the computer and wireless modem. ipconfig is not showing a good address.

I try to use the Toshiba utility to repair with no help. Tried to refresh networks, no help.

He cannot connect at home or at work so it's definitely the laptop.

What do I look for or try next?

Also, checked the on-off switch.

The Toshiba's usually have 3 choices on how to connect. I use all three and when it is set up to dial a connection it won't find the network through 10/100 connection nor the wireless.

All I do is run inetwiz from Start> Run, and leave all to automatic, and this usually takes care of it.

Not discovering the networks would be different. Is this a wireless add-on card or internal? Drivers installed properly? Either way, are the lights coming on? Power at least?

Has it ever worked? My first laptop had built in wireless, the new one doesn't but it still has the switch but no internal chip.

Does the wireless show up in DM?

Yes, wireless showes up.

I just talked with him and he's going to try his laptop at work tonight. He can normally get on there. At least we'll know if it's his laptop or something happening at home.

Also here are his ip addresses he had when I spoke with him. He was also having trouble getting on with his desktop but restarted modem and computer and got on with desktop.
