Wireless connection options?

I haven't bought a pcm card in years and now people are asking me for this, what's a good wireless option these days, pcmcia cards first of all? If so, which brand/model can you guys recommend please?

I'd use a PCMCIA card if running out of USB ports but USB wireless sticks have worked just fine for me.
