Worst attack since 2002 against Names Servers, flooded at least 3 of the 13.

Good job the infrastructure is as prepared as it can be for such attacks, the implications if the attackers ever catch up with the "leading edge" don't bear thinking about!!.

This is something that has been predicted for a while. The terrorists of the world have realised that communication is a great target to cripple the west (and everyone else with it)
I'm glad that the system picked this one up and survived it - no doubt both sides will learn from this attack, let's just hope the good guys stay ahead of the game.

Probably some teenage hackers trying to make a name. Bringing down all the root servers for a short time would not *crash* the internet anyway. Many ISP's run their own roots, not to mention caching locally. I think it is funny several articles I saw made it sound like the root servers are single servers.

No, but it sure would be a royal pain in the rear...
