I have a new laptop with an S video port and an old TV with only a Cable connection option. I have already purchased an electronic adapter it's this "thing" that you take an S video cable from your lap to an S video connection with the "thing" and then from the "thing" you do a video, "cable connection" to the television. But I can't get the laptop to send the signal over. Kind of frustrating. I seem to have it hooked up properly and I’m on the correct channel and pushing the correct "function / tv" key on my computer, but it will not send the signal over. The only reason I’m saying this is have you ever experienced a situation where the laptop does not recognize the tv and therefore does not send a signal over to it?
