Ok new thread started, i'm not trying to come on here and say your wrong but i acctualy got that information for a tech support line when i was having problems with a computer and i was advised to add a ball bearings worth of paste?, and it worked and i have been doing this for years now,

It is a valid technique for non-critical components and older CPUs, but modern CPUs generally need a more careful technique.

The recommended technique is generally to follow Arctic Silver instructions...
