My monitor choices for my new system are currantly the Sony F520 and the NEC/Mitsubishi FP1375X. The NEC has been suggested as the budget alternative to the Sony. This makes sense considering the Sony costs ~$1,500 and the NEC ~$900! But if the NEC has inferior picture quality, it isn't worth the savings. I haven't seen the two monitors side by side yet, but I've read that the NEC, which has a higher dot pitch ( http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/frown.gif) than the Sony, has visible image distortion (or something to that effect). Can anyone tell me if the NEC is a worthy alternative to the Sony, or recommend any other good budget monitors?
