I have a corded Intellimouse Explorer and I'm using it now. I haven't used a cordless mouse so I can't compare them. I will say this I am glad I bought it instead of the Intellimouse Optical like the one on my other system it is a great mouse too but I like the Explorer better. I feel lost without the two extra buttons on the side of the mouse set at default they work like the forward and back buttons in Windows and Internet Explorer. All 5 buttons are programable for a wide variety of functions such as:

click
right click
auto-scroll
back
forward
key stroke...[Any key combination]
none
Alt
Backspace
Clicklock
