Due to the political situation in my country, I post often in a Political Forum.
I think I behave without abuse, but maybe moderators think otherwise.
They kicked me out !!!
Of course, mi ID and psswd are no longer valid.
I erased all the cookies and cache in my browser, to no avail.
I know a little about Internet ad Networking, but I don't know how by-pass this problem.
Is there a hidden file involved in the process ?
How can re-create a profile and not be rejected ?
Any tricks ?
I use Windows 98SE and Netscape 7.2.
Please help the Freedom of Speech !!!
Want to re-enter that forum, please help me !

Posting that type of information, even if possible, would create problems for forums worldwide who control SPAMing, flaming, trolling, lewd, and other mischievous behavior by banning participants...

It has nothing to do with your browser or computer. They have you blocked by the forum software. There is nothing you can do about it. ;)

If you feel you were kicked out unfairly perhaps an email to the forum admin will get you reinstated.

Speaking from the side of things as one who does the banning...

The best way to get around a ban is to speak (email) to those in charge of the forum. Sometimes the ban is not justified, but in most cases, from my experience, it is...

Please help the Freedom of Speech !!!
You posting your comments on someboby elses website, news paper, billboard,... doen not constitute free speech.
Freedom of speech belongs to those who own the press.
This was stated here by the owner of this site during the course of a conversation where a member was complaining that he had been censored.

I have to agree with the other comments about contacting the moderators of the site in question, but do understand that just because this site exsists, you do not have the right to post on it.

This raises an interesting/important issue regarding the provision of goods and/or services by providers to citizens.

1. If "someone" sets up in business [or whatever] as a "provider", should they not be governed by certain rules of provision, and be REQUIRED by law to provide in a fair/unbiased/open manner?

2. e.g.
Should a provider be permitted to decide that he [for his own (perhaps unexplained, perhaps prejudiced) reasons] will not provide equality of provision [or ANY provision of] goods/services to certain members of society?
Perhaps a bus company would decide that a certain type of person [black skinned] would be required to sit at the back of a bus and be banned from sitting at the front?

3. Just at present in the UK...
A new law has been draughted outlawing discrimination.
One of the discriminations outlawed is in the provision of services.
e.g. Adoption agencies are not permitted to discriminate against prospective adopters based on their being "Gay" and in long-term same-sex relationships.
The Catholic church has asked for, and been refused, special exemption.
They want to be allowed to refuse to place children with gay couples.
In effect, they want to be permitted to discriminate against gays.
Their reason being that they cannot in good conscience place children with such couples; it would be inconsistent with their [prejudiced or well reasoned?] belief system.
The law-makers have refused them exemption from the law.

4. Should any ordely society governed by sensible laws require of their providers that they provide to ALL citizens in an unbiased manner, provided that those customers act within the law in their dealings as customers?

IMHO, yes and no. There are laws that forbid discrimination based on certain criteria, and there are businesses, etc., that do it anyway without being obvious about it. That's the way things are.

In real world, one often sees signs at business establishments that say something to the following effect:

We Reserve The Right To Refuse Service To Anyone!

In cyber world, one often read notices to the following effect:

We reserve the right to refuse service to, and to terminate the accounts, password, listing or access of any visitor or customer, for any reason in our sole discretion. Reasons we may refuse or terminate service, accounts, passwords or access include, but are not limited to, if we believe that the conduct of any visitor violates applicable law, or is offensive or inappropriate, or is harmful to our interests.

I assume these are legitimate notices as long as the refusal is within the bounds of law.

As far as free speech goes, the forums are like businesses and just because they are there that does not mean they are a media for free speech of all kind. Forums have the right to ban members for any reason. Each forum has its rules, levels of tolerance for "free speech", demographics, etc.

If one wants free speech in cyber world, one can start his/her own website, or blog, just like going to the town square in the real world, and spreading the word, (in free world, that is).

Thanks a lot folks but...

May be we are shifting from a technical forum to a political one (Simply I was asking for a technical solution to re-enter the Forum I referred to).

But I need to explain to all of you, that there is a lot of "self-censorship" of free speech in my country, due to "simple and plain fear" from replaisal from the government.

I sincerely can affirm, that I can see daily a lot of posters in that Forum, that are very much aggressive than me, but that they are "tuned" with the thinking of a "George-Orwell-novel-styled-dictatorship" , disguised as a democratic system.

Thanks anyway.

Fabrice.

You don't get it...

We are not about to explain, in full view of the public, how to circumvent a forum ban.

The only help that you will get here is what you have already been told...

Technical or not, it is and has been, this board's policy not to provide those kinds of answers...we also don't tell one how to hack passwords, crack games or other similar activities. That is the policy...accept it or leave. It doesn't matter if you are th Pope and you forgot your password...sorry. Some here may feel for your plight, but the question you are asking is not one we can answer.
