I have just bought a new system (custom). When i boot up the monitor says (out of range H60KHz V114.5HZ) they put Vista on it by mistake (Idiots)
My monitor supports Xp at max 1024x768 60.02 KHz 75 Hz
Is this a Vista prob or is the monitor just not man enough ?
Is there anyway i can get it to work ?
Sorry if this sounds stupid but i am not computer literate golf now thats another matter.

It's a vista problem, or rather, it is a graphics driver problem, as most graphic card drivers for Vista are at most beta software (If available at all). I suggest that you go back to the shop, and ask them to remove Vista, and put XP on it instead!

I assume the system worked in their shop. I also assume you can see the POST screen when the system boots. What is happening is the monitor resolution and or frequency in Windows is NOT supported by your monitor.
See if you can press the F8 key when Windows boots and choose VGA mode or last known good configuration. Once Windows loads, you can rest the video to 800 x 600 and then boot back into Windows normally. Once you are into Windows again, you will need to set the resolution and frequency to something your monitor will support.

That error is not a post error. The post screen is 640x480 and you should see the post screen. The error is a Windows initialization error. When Windows goes to the registry to set the resolution for the video card, when it attempts to apply this value, the monitor does not comply and you get the message....

Hi i meant the error i posted on the first part of this forum. The screen res is 640x480 error mess is (out of range H60KHz V114.5Hz).I have spoken to their tech department. They said my monitor should be fine for this system he thinks it may be the graphics card has come loose.I have checked this and it seems fine plus it has the screw still in place so how can it come loose ? .I tried it earlier and saw Intel come up (left hand top cnr of screen) then some numbers in the bottom right of the screen then it came up with the same message.I told them how annoyed i was and he said send it back, but its a 5 working day turn round.I have said i want some compensation for this.
