Especially when dealing with notebooks, sometimes I can't use my magnetic screwdrivers and have to use a flex but I need some sort of substance which will help hold the head of the screw unto the screwdriver tip, what do you guys use for this?

A little bit of sellotape. I give the screw a few turns till I feel that it's going in, then pull the screwdriver with sellotape out. After that, I normally tighten the screw.

I haven't tried it, but I wonder if a small blob of "Blue-Tack" woud do it?

Yep, It does. just remember to wipe any grease of the screwdriver first.
