Came across THIS LINK (http://www.webattack.com/Freeware/comm/a-fwemclients.shtml) and the Program that interested me was FoxMail 4.1 (a huge improvement on earlier and buggy versions) and which I am trying out for a friend. He wants to be able to bring a copy of such a program on a CD with him that he can install/uninstall on PCs when he is away from home; and also having the capability of leaving his mail on the server for when he gets home again.
He used to use Hotmail for this purpose but since they are probably going to start charging for POP retrieval he had asked me to keep an eye out for other options.
It's the first non-M$ free client that I have come across from which you can access both Hotmail and POPmail. Each (password protectable) User can add multiple POP accounts all of which are sent through that user's default SMTP. There is also a Remote Mailbox Manager which works for both the Hotmail and POP accounts.
I remember a previous discussion here before, but the problem then was in getting a combined Hotmail/POPmail client. So thought others might like to try it (or the other clients) out and also know of how to get their hands on a client with remote management for when, say, a message gets stuck on a mail server.
