Hello! Does anyone have any experiences/comments good or bad concerning the KDS flat CRT monitors they would like to share? I'm considering a 17" or 19" since my local retailer gets them regularly. I use my PC for buisness apps, internet, and moderate gaming (new shooters and sports). I'm also somewhat budget minded and shopping in the $200 range. Thanks!

I've had two of the KDS XF-70 17" monitors. The first was great - very bright and good geometry. The second was not bright and I took it back. My impression from reading user reviews is that quality control at KDS is not very good and also that the monitors tend to fail prematurely.
The last two monitors I've gotten have been Philips 107T's - very nice flat screen, budget monitors, 17" with good geometry and good resolution at high refresh rates. Best Buy had them last week for $179 - $50 rebate = $129. The Philips 107P is a better monitor at a higher price ($200?). The Philips 107S is a very cheap and not very good monitor.
When buying cheap monitors, shop locally so that you can return them if they have bad geometry or other problems.

Your comments are very much appreciated. I'll take a look at the Phillips monitors as well. Thanks!
