I just upgraded my computer and hooked up my computer to run through the router....no problems there.

When I run the linksys program to hook up the router...no problems their either.

When I activate the WEP to secure the wireless is when I'm having problems. I enter in the WEP key into the laptop settings for my connection but it won't connect to the 'net. When I disable the WEP it'll connect. I've quadruple checked to make sure I'm entering the right key but it just keeps messing up on me.

Are you activating the WEP in the router first? Then enable it in the laptop

Also make sure you use the #1 key that is generated. Unless you have changed the default transmit key from #1.

Yeah I was enabling the WEP in the router first (through the desktop computer) and then entering the WEP key in the laptop connection settings...

Kept getting an error regarding not enough digits or something for a key but I kept checking and everything was right...

So I switched to 128 bit encryption (better anyways) and typed in the key and away it went. Must not like 64 bit encryption.

The next trick will be setting this up as a network I think....my wife likes to use my printer on occasion so maybe I can work into setting this up so she can even save files to may hard drive?

Is that possible and easy to do?

She's got a 30GB HDD I think in her laptop and it's pretty 'slow'....

Windows XP?
Yes, very easy.
On the desktop go to Start>Control Panel>Network Setup Wizard. Follow the on screen instructions.
