It was mentioned by someone else in another thread, but I would like to see Charles implement an email activation scheme and/or having to enter a code when registering that bots can't read.

Most other forums use it now. So I would imagine it wouldn't be hard to implement.

Perhaps you or one of the other mods can email Charles to see if he can make it happen.

I'm sure it would cut down quite a bit on the bot spam. :)

Unless the mods just really need something to keep yourselves busy. :D :p

We already have one, but the pests have a tool to get around it... We need another layer now and I am not sure if this software would support the one that works at SWI, so we are just trying to keep on top of it and nuke these posts as quickly as we can... We are also getting quite a few of them before they can post...

You can believe we are trying anything that would cut down the spam/porn posts on the forums. The time the moderators spend chasing down and removing these guys and their crud is time better spent on helping members with issues that need resolution. We generally do not post the strategies in public since the bad guys will immediately adapt their efforts to get around our detections.
