I am trying to buy a laptop allready have a dell pc but really need laptop for college.

What are your needs for the laptop? That will really determine what to get.

Will long battery life be important? Light and easy to carry around all day? Just taking notes, email, etc., or do will you need to do CAD or other intensive tasks?

well ya taking notes, emailing/Internet is very crucial need that Wifi
Battery life is not very important because I will be pluging in outlets they are everywhere in my school, I Dont like heavy laptops and therefore I think i am going for a 15inch and not 17inch. But I am still looking around.
