I just built a computer for someone, and I think the graphics card is dead.
I finished the build and installed windows and everything was all hunky-dorey. I installed Quake 4 just to mess around (they were going to bring their own windows and key, so I was going to just re-format and re-install)
Anyway, I was playing for a few hours, the computer had probably been on for 10-15 hours when the monitor went all screwy. It was really late, so I just turned the computer off and went to bed :D. Anyway, when I got up this morning and turned on the computer, everything looked all screwy. From the BIOS, all the way through windows. When it got to the desktop (still looking like it went through a blender), the mouse would move for a few seconds, then everything would completely freeze.
I put the card in another computer and the same thing happened, so I'm thinking it's broken.
Here are some pictures of what it looks like.

P.S. Here is the card I have: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814102064

Make a #1-TuffTEST-Lite (http://www.tufftest.com/free.htm) bootable floppy and boot the PC with that in the FDD, then sit back and watch the tests completing.
It uses machine code to directly control the hardware and does quite extensive tests on the display setup.

You could try reseating it, but my instinct says it's gone south...

Same monitor used on both machines as well?

I have re-seated it multiple times, and the monitors were different. (I also tried multiple monitors on the same card)

The computer in question doesn't have a floppy drive in it at all, so I ran it off the CD. All the tests finished and passed (except one, I can't remember exactly what it was though. Something about pushing the monitor low and blanking the display? As much of the display as was readable showed that that test failed, although it just kept going...) Then when it was all finished, I realized that there was no way I could get the results off of the computer. I couldn't see them because the display is messed up. I couldn't save them on the CD and there wasn't a floppy. I tried printing them, but no luck. Anyway, I'm running them again as I type this using a floppy drive i managed to steal from one of the ancient machines around my house. I'll post the results in a little while, but I don't think it's going to give you anything interesting. The display looks exactly the same as it always does (crappy) and the tests are running underneath, oblivious.

Thanks for your help so far! :D

I am going through the same problems as stated above and my pictures match almost exactly to those posted above. I just bought this video card "BFG Tech Geforce 7950 Gt OC" and it's started doing this. BFG Tech support suggested that I update my bios and a few other options, which I completed to no avail. Could it be that my PCI-E port has gone bad?

Well, if it really is the exact same problem, I highly doubt your PCI-E port went bad. I tried my card in another (working) computer, and it did the same thing there. And if the port was bad, wouldn't TuffTEST return some errors?

Anyway, I'm just going to RMA mine. Newegg.com, you rule!
