What are some examples of the various types of UPS mentioned in the Reference Guide? Where can I shop for UPSes that actually identify their type to the buyer?
The Guide mentions several kinds: Standby, Ferroresonant, Line-interactive, and Online (IIRC). The comparison table suggests to me that a line-interactive UPS would be the best value for a poor man's PC, but a search on Pricewatch for the various types doesn't turn up a thing.
I'm open to suggestions for a UPS to buy that does conditioning and surge suppression, and doesn't suck. Tampa has a lot of lightning, and I've been hit with a surge of some sort that crippled my system despite being plugged into a Back-UPS Office, so that brand is out in my book.
