I have a wired D-link DI-604 4 port router using only two ports on my desktop. I would like to be able to use one of the remaining two ports to set up a wireless access point so I can connect to my laptop which already has a wireless adapter card. Does anyone make an add-on device using the RJ45 port to set up a wireless point or do I have to ditch my wired router and buy a new router with both wired and wireless points?

Something like this wireless Ethernet bridge may work:

Works without drivers on Windows™, Macintosh™, Linux™
Just do a search for "wireless access point "
D-link and others made a large number of models.
Just hook it to one of the numbered ports on your 604 plug in the desk tops to the other ports
You should be up and running

It's just cheaper and easier to get a new wireless router. On sale at Newegg (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16833127143&CMP=KAC-GoogleAdwordsSKU&ATT=Networking) for $19.99....
