To RAID or not to RAID

which setup should i go for?

Use a 74gb raptor to boot off of, and a 80 and 120gb 7200rpm disks for storage

or

RAID 0 with 2 hard drives and have one extra hard drive i have as a storage?

if i'm not mistaken, RAID can be configured so the hard drives do not have to be the same size. amiright?

RAID can be configured so the hard drives do not have to be the same size. amiright?Yes but each larger drive will lose its spare capacity since the array must be composed of equal sizes from each drive in it. The 80 plus the 120 (wouldnt mix in the raptor) will give you a 160 RAID-0 or an 80 RAID-1.

You could mix the Raptor and the 80 if the chipset you have allows it but you would lose the Raptor's performance.
